Jewelers Caught Suspects Trying to Sell Fake Gold
A suspicious individual who committed fraud with 2 pieces of 1 gram and 1 piece of 5 gram fake gold in Erfelek district center on September 26, 2025, was caught by Erfelek District Police Department teams.
Following the incident, upon detecting similar fraud attempts in the city center, the Public Order Branch teams took action. As a result of field studies, 3 suspects who engaged in a total of 10 grams of gold fraud with 2 pieces of 5 grams of fake gold were caught in Atakum district of Samsun.
During the searches conducted on the suspects and the vehicle they used, 4 pieces of 5 grams of fake gold, 2 pieces of 1 gram of fake gold, 40,200 TL cash, 600 dollars, 3 pieces of jewelry, and 5 mobile phones were seized.
Out of the 4 individuals captured, 2 were arrested and handed over to the penal institution by the judicial authorities they were referred to.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that efforts are being made continuously to ensure peace and security in the city.
